  1. "It's much safer when you are driving." WHAT!?!

There is NO safe way to text when you are driving. Text and Drive? Just say no. Throw the phone in the back seat.

    Other than that, very informative.

  4. About Go Keyboard I found it takes too long to load and it uses quite a lot of memory. How does it compare with the other apps you mention?

I'm french, live in Japan and I type most of the time in japanese, sometimes in french or english. Go Keyboard is, basically, convenient to deal with that. However, my biggest concern is with the app. speed. The keyboard switching takes a very long time. When typing in japanese I often insert some english or french word so this is annoying. I type in japanese in portrait while I prefer landscape layout for eng/fr and this switch also takes a pretty long time, nothing to compare with the original Android keyboard.

Same when u are searching the internet, typing in a search field, then browse, and repeat this a lot of times. The time spent at waiting for the keyboard to appear is pretty huge, even resulting in the keyboard app restart sometimes.

So Go should be promising and really useful for people like me, but afaik the loading time is hard to forget and really annoying. Are the other apps you mention lighter to load ?

    1. Maybe you can try to use TouchPal. Actually I just need switch the language between Chinese and English, TouchPal is good, but I think it's still not as fast as the default keyboard when I typing the words. SwiftKey is awesome, but WTH it doesn't support Japanese! How could a Keyboard support Korean but can't do it for Japanese!

And about the problem you mentioned. I suggest you to post it to the Go Keyboard developers. They should improve their products!

    2. BTW, my second foreign language is Japanese, but I almost forget this language now because I haven't used it in my life. Have a good day, Cossais さん

  5. Also about Go Keyboard, while I don't remember having problems with french and english dictionnaries, the japanese one was not able to find quite as many words or kanjis as the original japanese IME I got with my japanese Smartphone (a Sharp Galapagos 003sh).

  7. I'm using a different keyboard app and it's not on a qwerty layout, it's very interesting, fun and easy to use. I've been using this for a couple of months now and it fits what I want for a virtual keyboard. BTW this is a Dextr keyboard app.

If you hate qwerty this is for you.
